Review Weeks to Planning Weeks:

I am a fan of the review weeks. It was nice to have a week when most chaos occurs in the semester to have a review and do some evaluations. Not having a new reading or story was really nice during those weeks. I have never been a "planner". So for me, personally, I think I would adapt to the review week more. I am also the worst at time management... so I probably could use the planning weeks and that would have been for me but I know myself.. I create these plans and never stick to them. 

Story Planning Option:

I did not use the story planning option at all during the semester. I just dive right into my stories and think as I type. This has been my go to writing style for years and it has managed to get me by. I do think it is a good opportunity for those who are wanting to expand more onto their story or have a very in depth detailed story. For me, I never create a "rough draft", or plan my stories. 

Create More Audio:

This is something I think you should work on. I believe it is a lot easier to listen to an entire story book versus reading one. You can also multitask while listening and you often cannot when reading. I like to listen to lectures in the car or sometimes while running. I think if I could listen to my weekly readings either running or in the car that would be a lot easier for me. I just get so bored sitting down and reading for 30 minutes to an hour. I have to stay focused or my mind wonders. I do hope you create more audio for mythology and folklore. I think a lot of students will benefit from it.

Writing Tutorial:

Personally, I did not try a new writing style in this class. Although, if you do want to try a new style, this would be the class to try it in. I think the tutorials would be helpful for those who truly do want to expand their writing techniques but that was not the case for me. Each week, I would write my style the same way. Yes it probably was a little boring but it got the job done. I was comfortable and knew what and how to do it. I did not have to focus so much on learning the style, I was able to just jump right in and start writing.

Week 14 Review: practice

While just looking at the week 14 assignments, there is a a meme on there that is about practice. it says " Practice Writing: Practice will never make you perfect. Why should it? What fun would that be?- Stephen King.

This really stick out to me. I have always been horrible at writing and very self conscious of what I write. I have always hated reading my writing out loud or having other people read my work. This class in general has helped me with this fear. That meme also taught me a little lesson. Not everyone is perfect at writing so it is okay to not have a perfectly flowed story.

Famous Last Words: Surviving Finals

Senioritis is real, a little too real.

Tomorrow is D E A D week and I literally feel like I started this semester a week ago. Like what??? How is already the end of the semester? I am not ready for this. I want to do absolutely NOTHING. It is such a struggle. I am graduation in two weeks and its time to get my booty into gear or else, my mom and dad are not going to be happy. 

So... Luckily I only have one final. However, I have like 5 writing assignments not including this class. So.... to prepare myself for it is to come I have decided to do one class at a time. One day I am going to work on my Spanish and just bust that out. I am really productive when I am focused. I also enjoy Spanish so I do not think it will be an issue. For my capstone, I have to write a 10 page paper. I have decided to write 2 pages a day and find 2 sources a day as well. 2 pages a day is nothing so I think that strategy is very manageable.

Learning Challenge: Meditation

meditation 

I never was a believer in meditation until I took a yoga class on semester. At the end of each class we meditated for about 10-15 minutes. At first, I really did not know what to do so I just sat there, clueless. 

A few weeks in, I started to get the hang of it. I would lay down and close my eyes and just breath. I did not think about the quiz I didn't study for, how many points I need to get an eye, what I was going to eat for lunch. I thought about absolutely nothing. It was the most calming time in my life. I L O V E D it. I could lay there for hours but I had class 10 minutes after so I couldn't. It was a nice little break from the ongoing madness, I thought about daily. I felt refreshed after it and felt more focused in my next class then ever before. I encourage everyone to meditate, you need a good 15 minutes to just let your brain relax. It does a body and GPA good. 

Growth Mindset; Relationships

This is E V E R Y T H I N G ! ! ! !

Relationships effect almost everything. Your relationship with your family, partner, professor, friends...etc. can play a major role in your life. It can also play a major role in your life academically. I was in a four year relationship. I did not realize it was such a toxic relationship until it was over. I NEVER did homework while I was hanging out with him. Yes it was my fault for not doing homework but it was also how our relationship was. I ultimately believe he effected my academic performance in a horrible way. If we were ever arguing or fighting, that made me not do well in my classes or sometimes I wouldn't even go to class.

Now, I am in a fantastic relationship. We don't hang out everyday and have days were we literally just do homework together (I am writing this blog during one our homework dates). I am motivated in all the right ways and couldn't be happier :)
